I draw what I see.  Most of my art comes from photo references, but my early drawings were all done from life.  I started with simple still lifes and live human figure studies.  I then began creating my own scemes, by lying flat on the floor to draw the view underneath my bed, and going outside with my easel to draw an open clearing, adding my house plans.

Before entering the Drawing and Painting program at UNT, I reproduced Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night as my first painting.  After my first painting class, I began working from my own photographs and became familiar with oil paints and dirrerent mediums.  The following semester I completed a Beginning Watercolor course to learn new techniques and different methods of painting.
